Buying An Emergency Radio From The Internet

A radio is a very important part of your emergency preparedness. The last thing you would want is for your radio to let you down when you really need it.

It is very nice if you have the luxury of going to a store and putting your hands on a radio and doing your best to make sure it will work for you during a disaster. We don't always get that option.

I live in Alaska. My whole state is somewhat remote and the remote areas here are seriously remote. Some people here have the internet as their only option to order an emergency radio. In remote areas you can be more likely to have emergencies than other places. A dependable radio is even more important than usual.

If you can not get your hands on the radios that you want to use for your emergency preparedness, there are still things you can do to ensure you get a good one.

The best is customer reviews. These are written by people who had the radio that you are considering, in their hands. That can be even better than trying one out in the store. Some of those people writing those reviews may have used that radio for a while before they reviewed it. That means they will give you a good idea how it works after you get it home. I do like good customer reviews.

The people who write those customer reviews will often have expertise that you don't have and will point out good and bad things about your radio that would not have occurred to you. I really like this.

On both eBay and Amazon the sellers are rated by customers. This is very good to pay attention to. It is even better to keep the sellers honest. They make money on having and keeping a good rating. They want you to be happy with your purchase and they treat you accordingly. I find this reassuring and it has meant that my experiences buying from these sites has been good.

You can still get very good service from other sellers of emergency preparedness items including, emergency radios. I have found some that I like very much. It is worthwhile to look around a little on the internet before you buy your emergency radio.

My previous post was about general things to look for in a good emergency radio. It would be best to look at it first before you choose a radio off of the internet. You will have a clearer idea of the features to look for that may meet your requirements for an emergency radio.
