A Warning About A Computer Virus That Will Activate July 9

Your computer may be infected with a virus that will activate Monday, July 9, 2012. It has infected millions of computers worldwide, and most of the computer owners affected do not know it. I am posting this to warn my readers and hope that you will pass this warning on to others. 


I just ran across this problem while doing research for posts. I decided to post about the virus to help people keep their internet for preparedness. Hoo boy! I got an all time number of viewers on this post. I'm gonna leave it up a little longer to help as long as possible. I don't think it is Monday everywhere yet. I just checked and some people have 1 or 2 hrs. left yet. Best wishes to everybody.


This post is going out early, so that you will have as much chance as possible to fix your computer if it is infected. This post is instead of the one I would usually post after midnight my time. I already published one about making your own dehydrator for Saturday July 7.


If this virus activates, you will not be able to connect to the internet on July 9. It will be harder for you to fix your computer once the virus activates, so it would be good for you to find out if your computer has the virus before Monday.

Most or all of the sites offer the software for fixing your computer for free. Some of  the sites are government, some are geek good guys.


It was suggested that you get an external hard drive if your computer is infected, and download all of your important files to it. This is what they suggest you do before you start your program to fix the virus. 


You need to do all of the above before Monday, July 9, 2012. I am sorry to bring you bad news if your computer is infected with this virus, but at least you have a chance to fix it in time. 


I wrote this post right after I found out about the virus and posted it as soon as I wrote it. That is why I did not give you more warning. I only just found out myself.


This is disaster risk prevention or reduction. Your computer is a tool for your disaster preparedness and you need to protect it.
